Assessment and Moderation

Assessment and Moderation of pupil progress, attainment and achievement is an integral part of work that we do at Brookfields School.

All teachers assess pupil’s individual progress towards meeting their agreed IEP targets, termly targets and short term targets using a number of assessments and reporting tools such as

  • Connecting Steps (B Squared)
  • Routes for Learning (Welsh Assembly)
  • National Curriculum Attainment Levels

Teachers and other staff will also use a range of other assessment tools as required, such as the schools Affective Communication Check List

Pupil work is moderated on a termly basis by all teachers and every 6 months the pupil's levels of attainment are carefully assessed and recorded.

Pupil individual progress targets are set at the start of each academic year and are tracked by teachers using CASPA throughout the year to ensure that their progress is on track.
