Thematic Approach

This is an innovative approach to the education and development of pupils with complex needs or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

At the foundation to this approach is the principle that each pupil is unique and will therefore require a unique and individualised learning path. Through a multi-disciplinary and integrated approach, pupils learning styles and needs are identified which in turn allows their educational team to use the most relevant approach to their education.

Each child’s Individualised Learning Plan will focus on developing their skills in the following 5 Areas of Learning Communication:

  • Cognition
  • Physical & Motor
  • Independence
  • Emotional Literacy
  • Creative & Expressive

Discrete Contextual Based Modules offer pupils a rich variety of age appropriate experiences and interests through which their individualised targets can be delivered.
