The Brookfields School Association (PTA)

The Brookfields School Association (also known as Brookfields PTA) is a registered charity (No. 273594) and is vital to the school as a means of gathering parents, students and staff together for social occasions and fundraising activities.  As most of the pupils arrive at the school on transport provided for by the Local Authority, parents do not have the opportunities to meet ‘at the school gates’, and therefore getting to know other parents can be difficult. The objects of the charity are:

• To advance the education of pupils with learning difficulties at Brookfields School in Tilehurst, by providing or assisting in the provision of facilities or resources [not required to be provided by the local education authority] for education and development of pupils at the school.
• To promote the social inclusion and community development of pupils with learning difficulties at Brookfields School in Tilehurst and their families, by providing them with opportunities to interact and attend events which may otherwise be inaccessible to them due to their disabilities, or lack of provision at wider community events.

We arrange a number of very popular events throughout the year to achieve this such as  quiz evenings, the summer BBQ and a Christmas Bazaar, amongst others.

The Association is made up of parents and staff (past and present) who meet regularly and want to give a little back to the school and directly to the children by raising money, having fun and making new friends. Some of the current key committee members are:

After that, just go into easyfundraising everytime you shop and you will start to earn money for the PTA just by doing your normal shopping.
